Type A and AG pumps
Type A pumps are designed for pumping clean or slightly contaminated liquids with solids, water, sugar juices, food technology liquids, and some chemical products.
The temperature of pumped liquids can reach 150°C. They are used in many industries, in particular in mining, energy, waterworks, sugar, food industry and steelworks.
Building & Construction Parameters
Type A pumps are stationary single-stage pumps with an axial inlet, a closed impeller and a spiral discharge channel. The horizontal suction port is located in the pump axis, the discharge port is directed vertically upwards.
The pumps are made with a rope shaft seal or a mechanical front seal. They are equipped with spacer couplings, which allows the disassembly of the pump rotating assembly together with the bearing body and stuffing box, without the need to disconnect the pump from the pipelines or move the engine away.
Stationary Single-Stage Centrifugal Design
Type A pumps are stationary single-stage pumps with an axial inlet, a closed impeller and a spiral discharge channel engineered for smooth fluid dynamics and high hydraulic efficiency.
Axial Suction & Vertical Discharge Configuration
The horizontal suction port is located precisely in the pump axis, while the discharge port is directed vertically upwards, standardizing piping layouts and simplifying installation.
Dual Shaft Sealing Options (Rope or Mechanical)
The pumps are manufactured with either a traditional rope stuffing box seal or a modern mechanical front seal, tailored to fluid characteristics, solids concentration, and environmental requirements.
Spacer Couplings for Fast In-Situ Servicing
Equipped with spacer couplings, which allows the disassembly of the pump rotating assembly together with the bearing body and stuffing box, without the need to disconnect the pump from the pipelines or move the engine away.
Back Pull-Out with Spacer Couplings
Enables full disassembly of the rotating assembly, bearing body, and seal housing without breaking suction/discharge piping joints or moving the motor.
Execution Construction & Operating Parameters

Standards & Certifications
Applicable Standards
EN 12162 Certified
Hydraulic Safety & Pressure Integrity
Full conformity with European standard EN 12162 for liquid pumps hydrostatic testing, structural integrity, and industrial safety compliance.
ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU
Explosion Protection Directive
Certified for safe operation in potentially explosive atmospheres in mining, energy, and process industries under ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.
Materials of Construction & Selection
Type A pumps are available in a variety of materials, including gray cast iron, nickel cast iron, carbon cast steel, acid-resistant cast steel and alloy cast steel chrome. Construction materials are selected individually for each version, depending on the type of pumped liquid.
Gray Cast Iron
Standard waterworks, general cooling, and non-aggressive industrial liquids.
Nickel Cast Iron
Enhanced corrosion resistance against mildly acidic media and industrial waters.
Carbon Cast Steel
High mechanical stresses, thermal shocks, and elevated pressure duties.
Acid-Resistant Cast Steel
Aggressive chemical products, food technology fluids, and corrosive media.
Alloy Cast Steel Chrome
Wear-resistant metallurgy for liquids containing abrasive solids and fine slurry.
