H-type pumps
H-type pumps are intended for drainage of underground mines. The robust design of the H-type pump is suitable for the unfavorable operating conditions typical of mine drainage.
The pumps are designed to carry increased external loads and the presence of mechanical and chemical impurities in mine water. The solid and compact structure of H-type pumps allows them to operate in unfavorable working conditions. Due to these design features, H pumps, apart from their basic use in drainage of underground mines, are also used in other industries where there is a need to pump contaminated liquid, such as the steel industry, cement and lime plants, open pit mines and steelworks.
Building & Construction Principles
Multistage Configuration & Orientation
H-type pumps are stationary, horizontal multistage pumps. The discharge port is directed vertically upwards, and the suction port can be placed in four positions, i.e. rotated by 90° depending on needs.
Hydraulics, Bearings & Sealing
Closed impellers and vane vanes are used. The axial thrust in the pump is balanced by the disc relief system. Rolling bearings transmitting radial forces are lubricated with grease. The shaft seal may be string, amorphous or mechanical.
Explosion-Hazardous Environment Capability
H pumps can be used in explosion-hazardous areas as devices group I category M2.

Product Features & Key Highlights
Specialized Construction Materials
Construction materials for H-type pumps are selected depending on the pumped liquid. We use salt-resistant, wear-resistant and duplex cast steel.
Engineered for Unfavorable Operating Conditions
The solid and compact structure of H-type pumps allows them to reliably operate under harsh mine drainage conditions carrying mechanical and chemical impurities.
Increased External Load Resistance
Rigid construction designed to absorb external piping loads and heavy mechanical stresses without compromising internal alignment.
Wide Industrial Applicability
Beyond underground mine dewatering, H pumps operate in open-pit mines, steelworks, cement and lime plants, and wherever heavily contaminated liquids must be transferred.
Disc Relief Hydraulic Balancing
Internal disc relief mechanism effectively counteracts severe axial thrust across heads up to 1400 meters.
Proven Operational Heritage
Decades of proven endurance under Siberian frost, severe European underground shafts, and high-abrasion slurry duties.
Construction Materials
Construction materials for H-type pumps are selected depending on the pumped liquid. We use salt-resistant, wear-resistant and duplex cast steel.
Salt-Resistant Cast Steel
Engineered specifically for mine dewatering applications with elevated salinity and corrosive chemical constituents.
Wear-Resistant Cast Steel
Formulated to resist severe hydraulic erosion from suspended sand, rock particles, and abrasive mine sludge.
Duplex Cast Steel
Superior dual-phase metallurgical structure offering exceptional mechanical yield strength combined with high pitting and crevice corrosion resistance.
